Murter
A small island, joined to the mainland by a 35 m long bridge, with 5.000 inhabitants mainly in three towns, Murter, Jezera and Tisno. A settlement in Roman times it has mostly been a place known for olive oil and other typical Mediterranean agricultural products, but also for ship building, wooden boats are still built in Betina, and for the fact that most of the Kornati Islands are owned by the people of Murter. It has many nice bays, and one of them, Slatina, has a very nice, although often crowded, sandy beach.
Easy to find an anchorage, visit one of the marinas, or enjoy many good small restaurants on a non complicated, simple island where peace can still be found even during the most busy weeks.
